It was busy week. Tuesday saw VEDC Partner's meeting first thing in the morning and ended with an enjoyable evening speaking to Victoria Democrat Club. Wednesday saw meeting with Thomas Eisman at Hope Child Advocacy Center where I met a staff whose work can only be done by very special people. They in the work they do with abused children become in many ways a big part of the conscience of our community. Thursday spent preparing for and participating in conference call with colleagues on the Texas Society of Architect's Government Affairs Committee. Friday included meeting of Victoria County Long Term Recovery Group as captured in attached photos. These dedicated people will not be satisfied until all adversely affected by Harvey are made whole again. Friday ended on a high note meeting with Eric Leonard, head of Black Chamber of Commerce, as we discussed ways to encourage revitalization of Victoria's south side by encouraging and empowering black, hispanic and other entrepreneurs. Victoria has amazing Citizens who want to see this community soar and are willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work to make it happen!!
"Victoria is a wonderful place with great potential, but we have fallen behind in recent decades. As Mayor, I want to renew our vision for a city steeped in history, yet bursting with excitement for a prosperous future.”
